Ian William West is a highly accomplished Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and academic whose extensive educational and professional journey has focused on clinical care, research, and improving access to mental healthcare for diverse populations.

Academic Journey and Accolades
Dr. West's academic foundation is distinguished, culminating in a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Columbia University School of Nursing in New York, NY.

His pursuit of knowledge also includes several Master's degrees:

​

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Columbia University School of Nursing.

• Master of Science (MS) from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA.

• Master of Education (M.Ed) from the University of Minnesota School of Kinesiology in Minneapolis, MN.

 

His commitment to excellence is evidenced by his numerous academic accolades.

 

Dr. West's research contributions, particularly during his time as a Researcher at the Mayo Clinic Department of Psychiatry, focused on community engagement in health research, telemedicine, and health information translation. This work resulted in several peer-reviewed publications. He has also held teaching positions, serving as Clinical Faculty at Columbia University School of Nursing.

Dr. West has demonstrated a strong dedication to clinical practice in mental health. His current professional roles include serving as a:

Dr. West holds NP/RN licenses in North Dakota, Minnesota, New Hampshire, and New York, and is credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
